Sandra E. Campbell , 68, of Lakewood, passed away September 4, 2016.
She was born February 3, 1948 in Marietta, Oklahoma, the daughter of Graham and Ledgia (Rose) Campbell.
Sandra Campbell, more affectionately known as "Sandy", loved serving children and families. She was compassionate, sensitive, caring, and loved her career in Adoption Services within the Department of Human Services. Her career there within the Adoption Program entailed: Recruitment Programs and Services. Outreach Services, Completing Adoptive Home Studies, Adoptive Placements of Children Eligible for Permanent Planning/Adoption, Supervision, Supportive Services of Children in Trial Adoptive Placements, Enabling Finalizations of Adoptions in conjunction with Courts, Judges, Attorneys, Adoptive Parents, to the ultimate attainment of successful adoption(s)
Sandra advanced her career and professional expertise when granted DHS approval to pursue her expertise in acquisition of Master's Degree (M.S.W.) from the University of Oklahoma. After those two years of study she returned to DHS. After retiring from DHS, she worked for four years in hospice care and brought comfort to terminally ill patients.
She was endeared and loved by a wealth of parents, children, co-workers; and forever loved by her friends, family, and her loving son, Hayden.
She is survived by Son, Hayden Manuel; Sister, Vicki Hays; Sister, Julia (Ted) Thrasher; Brother, Tim (Sherry) Campbell; Special Friend, Gracie Casias; and Numerous Nieces, Nephews, and Friends. She is preceded in death by her Parents.
