Sarah Ford (Sally Ann Mitchell) 66, of Denver, passed away May 18th, 2026.
She was born to the late Clyde and Janice Mitchell, August 14th, 1959, in Denver, Colorado at St. Joesph Hospital. She lived her childhood in the Del Mar neighborhood of Aurora, Colorado where she enjoyed roller skating, rock and roll and many friends.
Sally graduated from Aurora Central High School in 1977.
Shortly thereafter, she married Gary Boesel in 1980 and together, they opened Alpine Auto Body in 1981.
Sally worked in the body shop office and on the shop floor, learning and helping the business grow. During that time, she loved attending races at Englewood and Rocky Mountain Speedway, working on the racecar and cheering from the bleachers.
Sally and Gary had two sons, Derrick Boesel (1983) and Mitch Boesel (1989). Sally was very involved in her son’s school activities, as well as serving as team Mom for the Aurora Youth League Rebels. In 1997, she relocated to Naples, Florida andopened up Hurricane Sally’s, a fun rental business on the beach. In 2008 she returned home to Denver where she worked at Safeway in the Mayfair neighborhood of Denver.
She went on to be a caregiver to her parents and a beloved member of her community.
Sally was a devoted mother to her two sons, a wonderful sisterand a friend to many. She was known to be an incredible cook, for her beautiful golden blonde hair, loving spirit, her sense of humor and her signature laugh. The coolest Mom on the block indeed.
She was loved by all and she will be greatly missed.
Sally is survived by her two sons: Derrick and Mitch Boesel, of Denver Colorado and is preceded in death by her parents Clyde and Janice Mitchell.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Disabled American Veterans.
There will be a celebration of life, later this fall, in Aurora.
