Listen to Obituary

Shannon Jennie Beeter, 53, of Lakewood, died Tuesday the 6th. She was born on July 19th in 1973 in Denver Colorado to Anetta and the late Paul Stevens. Shannon graduated from Abraham Lincoln High school in 1991 and received her Bachelors from Metropolitan State and her Masters Degree from the University of Phoenix in 2006 for Education. She married her surviving husband Ron Beeter on June 19, 1999, they were happily married for 27 years living out their marriage in their home in Lakewood Colorado.

Shannon was a middle school teacher, she taught seventh grade social studies at Lake Middle School for 20 plus years which is where she spent the majority of her years teaching. She absolutely loved being a teacher but most of all she loved her students, she loved seeing them grow, being a teacher was tough with lots of work both in and out of school but she mentioned multiple times that she’d do it all over again if it meant she got to teach and support her kids. Outside of school Shannon enjoyed nature, she cared for her garden for many hours a day harvesting and watering. She also enjoyed exploring the world around her, as a kid with her mom and brothers Shannon would enjoy going outside and going on fun little adventures in nature. Moving into adulthood she loved to go fishing, hunting and camping but she enjoyed being able to do those things with her immediate family but she also loved seeing her extended family from all over.

Shannon is survived by her three children, Her eldest Arowen who resides in Anchorage, Alaska and her twins Dillon and Ella Beeter who were still home with Shannon, and her love for 37 years Ron Beeter, Her Mother Anetta; Brothers, Kirk and Vance. She loved to spend time with her kids and absolutely loved hearing about their days and learning about them as people. Shannon also enjoyed talking to family from all over, her older brother Kirk and her younger brother Vance were always there, she also stayed in contact with her in-laws Rosie and Jack Beeter who reside in Anchorage, Alaska. Shannon also enjoyed it when she got calls from one of the newest additions to the family, her future daughter in-law, Arowen’s fiance Justice.

Overall Shannon was a loved member of her community whether it be in her neighborhood where she asked about your day while sharing her hauls from the garden or in school where she made an effort to get to know everyone and gift produce from her garden to anyone who asked, students and coworkers included, as well as putting in as much effort as she could in any situation, or in her family when no matter what she stayed close and supportive of the people she loved especially her children. You will be missed Shannon Jennie Beeter, but most of all you’ll be remembered.
