Sharon Keys was born Sharon Crook in the small town of Superior, Nebraska on March 29, 1944. She lived her life like a beautifully painted canvas—full of color, curiosity, and quiet grace. A devoted wife to Tom Broberg, mother to Lisa and Susan, Nana to Michael, Melissa, Allison and Katie, and great‑grandmother to Anthony, Lilly, Natalie, Alex and Asher, sister to Gary and John, and trusted friend of so many, she held her family and friends at the center of everything she did. Sharon graduated from high school in 1962 and built her career as a very successful account representative for brokerage companies.
She was a traveler in the truest sense, finding wonder in the streets of Italy and Spain, the charm of Paris, the canals of Amsterdam, the plazas of Brussels, the warmth of Mexico, and various other places. Each trip left an imprint on her spirit and deepened the palette of her life. An accomplished artist, she captured light and feeling with a painter’s eye. When not at her easel, she tended her gardens with the same gentle care, nurturing blossoms, vegetables, and herbs as faithfully as she nurtured the people she loved. Books filled her quieter moments, offering her new worlds to explore. She loved to play Rummikub, was a whiz at trivia and Jeopardy, and completed the daily New York Times crossword puzzle in pen!
Her legacy lies in the beauty of her artwork, the memories that all who knew her will cherish, and the love she gave so generously. She leaves behind a family shaped by her warmth, her creativity, and her enduring sense of wonder. She will forever be loved and missed.
