Shawn Sneed

Shawn V. Sneed, of Aurora Colorado, passed away, August 10th, 2015 at the age of 49. He was born in New York City on October 14th, 1965.

In his early years Shawn attended Seward Park High School in NYC. He then went on to serve in the Army for four years which included a tour in Germany. After returning to NYC for several years he decided to join his long time friend , and moved to Colorado in 1996. Here he spent the rest of his life. Shortly after moving to Colorado, Shawn had total kidney failure, and after several years on dialysis, had received a successful kidney transplant. This did leave Shawn on the permanently disabled list. A status which never held him down or back, even for a second. Shawn continued to live life with the stoic optimism that we all came to love about him.

Shawn was a person that had an amazing smile that was just contagious. He loved to tell stories. Shawn had a passion for martial arts like no other. He taught Martial arts, and self defense classes over the years trying to help save the world one person at a time. Though Shawn never had children of his own he was a father figure to many of his students, and friends as well. Later, he also followed another passion of his, and became an NRA Instructor.

Always willing to do whatever he could for his friends, he became a Pastor when he was asked to perform wedding ceremonies by some of his students and best friends. There wasn't anything Shawn wouldn't do for his friends, in his eyes, their happiness always came before his own. And in that way, he found his happiness, always by doing for others.

Come celebrate Shawn's life with food and a live band at the Tailgate Tavern and Grill, 19552 E. Main St., Parker CO 80138, Saturday, August 22, 2015 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
