Shelly Lynn Hofford

September 15, 1981 — October 19, 2013

Our dear Shelly Lynn Hofford passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on October 19, 2013. Shelly was born September 15, 1981 and was loved so dearly by her mother Maggie Hofford and father John (Jan) Hofford. Shelly is very much loved and cherished by her two older sisters, Jennifer Garza and Lissa Hood of Castle Rock, Colorado and her brother-in-law, Frank Garza who is really more like her true big brother.

Her maternal Aunt Trease Miller of Aurora, Colorado had a very special bond with Shelly. Her wonderful Nana, Mickie Miller of Aurora, Colorado, and her twin teenage nieces, Madison & Megan Hood of Ft. Lupton, Colorado will miss her dearly. She will also be missed by her paternal Aunts Nancy Paquin and Gail Walkowiak of Massachusettes. She always brightened the days of her maternal Uncles John Miller of Iowa, Jim Miller of Arkansas and Smoky Joe Miller of Texas. Paternal Uncles Alan and Butch Hofford of Michigan, and Wayne Hofford of Massachusetts will miss her fun-loving and joyful chats with them via phone or online. And she has many cousins who also just adore her!

Shelly brought such joy to everyone around her. The love of her life, E.J. Mullaney of Littleton, Colorado is devastated by her passing. He loves her so. She was his princess. They were planning a life together and starting a family.

Shelly was such a joyful free spirit, fluttering around like a beautiful butterfly, and never one to easily conform. Her beautiful smile ("Smiling, Smiling's my favorite", from the movie "Elf" was often quoted by Shelly) and sparkling teeth, her bright and shining eyes, her contagious laughter was just the beginning of the gifts she gave to others, always making them laugh and truly enjoy being in her presence. Her joy and love of life made the lives of those around her more fun, especially during, "Peanut Butter Shelly Time". Her jokes could be new or old, but mostly a spontaneous reaction to the moment. It made her happy to help others laugh.

Her genuine love, compassion and caring for people contributed greatly to her success in her career choice, most recently as an orthodontic patient coordinator. She loved working with people. Her creativity and marketing skills benefited any company for whom she worked.

Shelly was a compassionate, intelligent, lovable young woman who was generous to a fault and would do anything for any of her friends and family. Since childhood, one of her favorite movies has been "Alladin" and the song "You Ain't Never Had a Friend Like Me"….now ain't that the truth! We will all miss her terribly. She recently watched the movie, "A Bug's Life" and was found to say, "The end of that movie is my favorite! "It's the time of your life, so live it well". That'll stick!". We know 'Shelly'll stick!' in our lives forever. No one can or will ever fill the void she left. We have lost our beautiful shining star. Our hearts are broken.

Please bring your memories and/or photos of Shelly to share with all of us. And if you'd like to share a memory or leave a special message for the family online, please click on the "Share Memories" button above. You are also invited to a Celebration of Life for Our Dear Shelly, probably on/about November 9, 2013. We will update you asap with details.

Of course flowers are beautiful (purple/lavendar being Shelly's favorite colors). However, in lieu of flowers, donations would be very appreciated and can be made to the Shelly Hofford Memorial Fund at any Wells Fargo Branch. God Bless you, and God Bless Our Dear Shelly.
