Sherynn R. Rivoire

October 21, 1943 — May 28, 2023

Sherynn A. (Marchiondo) Rivoire, 79, passed away Sunday May 28, 2023 in Lone Tree, Colorado. She passed away peacefully with her son Micheal P. Rivoire at her bedside holding her hand.

She leaves behind her children, daughter Michelle R. McNamee & her husband David, daughter Diana L. Riggs & her husband Brian, son Alvin A. Rivoire Jr., son Micheal P. Rivoire, and son Joseph G. Rivoire & his wife Ronda, grandchildren Billy, Natasha, Erica, Jordon, Travis, Branden, Nick, and Briesjiet, and great grandchildren Athena, Jayden, Lillianna, Connor, Audriana, Red, Summerlyn, Myrah, and Jackson.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Alvin A. Rivoire on September 19, 2017, her father Albert Marchiondo, her mother Joyce (Huff) Marchiondo, and her baby brother Gregory. She was born in Raton, New Mexico on October 21, 1943. She graduated from Lafayette High School and attended a year at Southwestern Louisiana University in Lafayette. She met the love of her life, Alvin, on a blind date in Lafayette before moving to Baton Rouge. Alvin traveled back and forth from Lafayette for some time before moving to Baton Rouge as well. They married on April 27, 1963 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and welcomed their first child Michelle Rivoire in February of 1964. As a family they moved to Denver, Colorado in June of 1970 with big hopes of creating a Christian retreat in the mountains. They dreamed of having cabins on the lake where they could spend time with their children and grandchildren to come.

She was a devoted wife and mother who was faithful and resourceful. She worked in many roles over the years as her talents were endless and her desire to serve her family was unwavering. She poured her heart and soul into her family and pursued many opportunities to better their life including driving a school bus for a year at Jesus Center where her children were enrolled, working as a bookkeeper for a little over a year, helping her husband with their janitorial business for many years, buying into real estate with her brother, working as a typesetter for a few years, and finally spending the last of her working years at the post office.

She embodied the definition of Love. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful and endures through every circumstance. She never missed an opportunity to drop everything to be there for her family no matter how difficult the circumstance; her family could depend on her. She had a boundless capacity to love and be present with each and every one of her family members. Her presence was profound and her absence will be immense.

She lived a life full of love with a large family. She took a piece of our hearts with her when she left but we will hold dear the beautiful memories we shared until we met again in heaven.
