Our loving mom, grandma, great grandma and sister, Shirley Troxell Walyer passed away on December 26, 2013. She was born on January 5, 1926 in Denver, CO. She was one of five children to Louise and Fred Troxell. She is survived by her sisters: Beverly, Claudia and brother, Clifford. She was preceded in death by her sister Dorothy.
Survived by her loving daughters; Pam, Debby and Sue and preceded in death by her oldest daughter Sherry, her wonderful grandchildren, Aimee, Becky, Ricky, Tammy, Jamie, Jere, Randy, Sissy, Mitch and Kelly and 22 great grandchildren. In addition, she had many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends, who loved her very much.
Shirley was happily married to Tony until his passing in 2009 and they ran their radiator business until then. They loved traveling, fishing and the holidays. Shirley loved spending time with family from Sunday dinners, parties and attending all of the grandchildren and Great Grandchildren's events. She loved watching their athletic events and never missed a function. Her passion for travel was evident and she always shared these experiences with her children and grandchildren. She lived her life to the fullest and never took a day for granted. She touched many hearts along the way!
She was the definition of family matriarch. She was the glue that kept us together until the very end. She loved her husband dearly and they were about to celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary when he passed. They were married in January of 1945. Together they created a family, created memories and created love that will endure all time. We all will miss her dearly!
Services will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 901 S. Sheridan Blvd, Lakewood, CO 80226 on Monday, January 6th at 10:00am. Burial service to be held at Ft. Logan Cemetery (Hampden Ave and Sheridan Blvd.) immediately following at 11:30am (Staging Area B). Reception will follow at Pam Spike's house at 12663 West Wesley Place, Lakewood, CO 80228.
