In Loving Memory of
Sinforoso “Chiko” “Chempo” Sanchez Jr.
January 25, 1959 – September 30, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sinforoso “Chiko” “Chempo” Sanchez Jr., 67, of Aurora, Colorado, who passed away on September 30, 2026, surrounded by the family he loved so deeply.
Chiko was born on January 25, 1959, in Lubbock, Texas, to Sinforoso and Guadalupe Sanchez. Throughout his life, he built a legacy centered on family, hard work, laughter, and love.
Chiko was many things to the people who knew him—funny, loving, caring, hardworking, stubborn, and, as his family would lovingly agree, very hardheaded. Beneath that stubbornness was a man who was always willing to help and always looking out for the people he loved.
Family and friends meant everything to Chiko. He was the kind of person who watched over his loved ones and made sure they were okay, no matter the situation. His presence brought laughter, comfort, and the reassurance that someone would always be there when needed.
Chiko had a deep love of music and enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, including his famous power naps. He also took great pride in his work with Formula Roofing, where he worked hard and truly loved what he did. His dedication and strong work ethic were an important part of who he was.
Chiko was a Christian man whose faith was an important part of his life. Above all, he loved his family and cherished the time he spent with them.
Chiko is survived by his beloved siblings, Liz, Daniel, Sandra, Nancy, and Janie, along with his family in Colorado: Chemo, Fanny, Candy, Valeria, Vanessa, and Emilio. He is also survived by his many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends, who will continue to carry his memory in their hearts.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Sinforoso and Guadalupe Sanchez, and his brother, Joe.
When asked how he wanted to be remembered, Chiko said: “I want people to remember that I had a good life and a wonderful family.”
And that is exactly how those who loved him will remember him—with a smile, a laugh, a little bit of stubbornness, and a heart that was always looking out for his family.
Though our hearts are broken by his absence, we are grateful for the life he lived, the memories he gave us, and the love he shared with us.
Rest peacefully, Chiko. Your family will carry your memory, your laughter, your music, and your love with us always.
You had a good life. You had a wonderful family. And you will never be forgotten.
May he rest in the loving arms of God.
