If you knew our mother she was one in a million and second to none. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. The book of Proverbs, chapter 31 describes our mom as she provided for her family and gave unselfishly to us and others. Our mother committed her life to us, she sacrificed and even went without; just so we could survive. Our mother was strong in her faith and raised a God fearing family and because of her we are seven strong. Without her we would never have known the love of God and she has enriched our lives and touched the lives of many others. We remember all of the beautiful times in church when mom would gather all seven of us to the front to sing. We sung with her all of the time while she played her Harmonica. She loved hearing us sing her favorite gospel songs from childhood and through our adult life; this brought her great pride and so much joy. Some of our favorite memories of our mother were her famous tamales, the best cinnamon candy apples ever, and every one's favorite…. Bizcochito cookies.
When we would take mom to Central City she really enjoyed spending one on one time with us. Her favorite thing to eat was the Prime Rib at Dolly's or the crab legs at Isle of Capri. Her dog Titus was her loyal and faithful companion to whom she would play her Harmonica for and he would sing along. Mom's two best friends, Joyce Sabin and Linda Temeyosa have always been there for her and we are forever grateful for that and we love you. Mom never doubted our love for her and we are so happy to know that she is once again whole, and is no longer suffering or in pain. Although our mother didn't live a materialistic life; we rest assure knowing she now has all the riches in heaven and her mansion on the hill top. She has earned her wings and is now singing for Jesus. Our mother instilled value, integrity and so much more within us and we are who we are today because of her. We honor her and we will always be grateful to God for lending her to us.
Mom was very proud of all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved them beyond words. In her last days she said the hardest thing, for her, was going to be leaving them behind. Mom prepared ahead knowing that the end was near, even though we didn't want to accept it. She was able to express her appreciation and love to all of us and we are so blessed that God allowed us to have this time with her. She was created by the hands of God; lent from heaven to love us. She will be missed everyday of our lives and never forgotten. She had completed her life's task and was ready to be with her mom and dad and all of her loved ones that preceded her. The tears that we shed today are tears of joy though she is not here physically we will miss her and are comforted knowing she is with God.
Thank you for all of your prayers, love and support through this difficult time.
