Steve Garcia of Denver, CO, passed away at the age of 41 on August 21, 2013.
Steve was preceded in death by his mother Eleanor, sister Kathy, and brother Jerry; survived by father Gene, sons Alex and Nathan, fiance Danette, sisters Joann and Connie, niece and nephew Tanisha and Jake; and many close cousins and friends. Often times, Steve took his boys hunting, go-karting, and fishing. Engaged to Danette Partridge, Steve was very much in love and discovered a part of himself he never knew existed. He had an amazing camaraderie with his friends, most of whom he knew throughout his lifetime.
He attended school until the 11th grade. Eventually he worked as a landscaper for DLC Landscaping. He adored his job and coworkers, and was very devout and industrious, often giving family and friends the opportunity to work with him during the winter for snow removal.
He was able to overcome alcoholism, proving that, given determination, people can change for the better.
Steve was one of the happiest people anyone could know; there was no one he couldn't get along with, no one he could not make laugh. He had many hobbies, including fishing, fixing cars or playing with RC cars, camping, swimming, tinkering with various things (there was nothing he couldn't fix), and he especially enjoyed hunting. It was a tradition for him to go for his birthday each year. Some of his favorite bands were Slipknot, Slayer, Korn, and Sublime.
To say that he will be greatly missed is a gross understatement; life without him for surviving family members and friends will be difficult to bear. However, they know that Steve would want them to come to terms so that they would be able to move on with their lives.
