Steve Smalley

Steve Smalley, 72, born July 14, 1951 in Millville, New Jersey, passed away August 26, 2023 in Denver Colorado. Steve graduated from Millville High School, Millville New Jersey, and received his Bachelor of Education at Glassboro State College (Rowan University) in Glassboro, New Jersey. He was an educator before moving to Colorado in 1978. Once in Colorado he worked as a cement mason before beginning a career in sales and marketing in the Telecom industry, insurance and multi-level marketing.
Steve loved family gatherings and the outdoors. He loved the ocean and the mountains. He was a skier (water and snow), golfer, gardener, bird watcher and fisherman.
His parents, Ethelind Julie Nichols Smalley and Donald Evans Smalley of Millville, New Jersey preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Kathleen Ann Unruh Smalley, step son Justin Allen Reeves, brothers Clif Smalley (wife Bonnie) and Neal Smalley, his aunt Jessie Wesley, uncle Dave Nichols (wife Carol), two daughters, two grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life was held at the home of Steve and Kathy on October 22, 2023, followed by burial at the Golden Cemetery, Golden, Colorado. In honor of Steve, please consider donating to Third Way Center, Inc. (www.thirdwaycenter.org) or the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
