Listen to Obituary

Estevan “Steve” Arellano, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2026, in Westminster, Colorado, surrounded by his loving family. Born on December 15, 1929, in Pueblo, Colorado, Steve lived a life that was a testament to hard work, faith, and humor.

His journey began in 1950 when he graduated from Pueblo Central High School, where he demonstrated his athletic prowess by lettering in wrestling as a two-time state champion. After graduating high school, Steve married Victoria Rodriguez in 1951. He dedicated forty years of his life to Wonderbread, where he was known for his relentless work ethic and commitment. He retired from the company, having earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues.

A faithful man at heart, Steve encouraged others to develop their own faithfulness. His devotion was not only reflected in his spiritual beliefs but also in his active engagement within his church community. He proudly served as Secretary, Treasurer, and Deacon, guiding many with his gentle demeanor and kind spirit. In recognition of his contributions, he was honored at the first annual Christian Day of Elders in July of 2001.  Family and friends cherished his unwavering support and lighthearted spirit; he was known for his jokes and often filled family gatherings with laughter—the kind that comes from a deep bond and a shared love of humor.

Steve’s adventurous spirit extended beyond work and church; he was also dedicated to his radio ministry from 1957-1959 at KDZA in Pueblo, where he shared a singing ministry every Sunday.

His service to the country during the Korean War marked another chapter in his life. Drafted into the United States Army in 1951, Steve served honorably and returned to a civilian life enriched by his experiences.

On February 18th, Steve and his beloved wife, Victoria, would have celebrated an extraordinary milestone—75 years of marriage. Their partnership was a beautiful example of enduring love and mutual support. Together, they nurtured a close-knit family, which includes their five children: Victor Arellano (Amy), Alfonso Arellano (Grace), Mary Tafoya (Damien), Theresa Guerrero, and Bernadine Arellano (Leroy). The legacy of love continues through five generations and includes 23 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren and 39 great-great-grandchildren, many of whom will carry forward the values Steve instilled.

He now joins his parents, Felipe and Eluteria Arellano, along with his siblings: Genero Arellano, Margaret Aguirre, Lupe Ramirez, John Arellano, Charles Arellano, Dave Arellano, Jose (Tito) Arellano, Luis (Wimpy) Arellano, and Mary Ramirez and two great-grandsons, Brian Szakmary and Moses F. Guerrero in eternal rest.

Steve's visitation and final services will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, West Metro in Denver. Visitation is scheduled for January 26, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM, followed by the funeral service from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
