Susan Mary (Hughston) Cannon

Susan Mary (Hughston) Cannon, 71, of Arvada, passed away March 20, 2017.
She was born May 26, 1945 in Dallas, Texas, the daughter of J. Arch and Margaret (Winford) Hughston.
She was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School in Dallas. She graduated from Texas Women's University in Denton, TX with her Bachelors Degree in Nursing .
She married Guy Cannon III in March 20, 1969. They lived in Dallas before moving to Denver in 1971.
Susan worked at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, before moving to Denver. Once in Denver, Susan was a Nurse in the NICU at St. Joseph's Hospital.
Susan accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She has served faithfully, through the years, as a member in various choirs, including the Billy Graham Crusade choir, the Rocky Mountain Praise Choir, and the choir for the "New Young Messiah" concert. She also sang with Glenn Campbell and Jerry Nelson.
Susan was a very good cross-stitcher and seamstress. She wrote poetry and collected rocks, fossils, and stamps. She had a huge heart for animals.
Susan is survived by 3 children, David (and Jennifer) Cannon of Arvada, CO, Christopher Cannon of Arvada, CO, Beth Cannon, and her sister Ann Harney of Red Oak, TX and her brother Johnny (and Patricia) Hughston of River Oaks, TX. Susan, "Nana", is survived by 3 wonderful grandsons, Will Cannon, Matt Cannon, and Josh Cannon, all of Arvada, Colorado and many nieces and nephews in Texas.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 46 years, Guy R. "Rob" Cannon III of Arvada, CO in 2015 and their oldest son Jim Cannon of Arvada, CO in 2008.
