Thornton (Tony) Thomas Doss, 85, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2014.
He was born in San Antonio, Texas on January 8, 1929.


He was married to the late Rachel Hodges (1953) and Marjorie Monahan (1983).
Tony is survived by four children: Rebecca Sproul of Conifer, Co; Karin Doss of Duxbury, Ma; Carolyn Cohen of Monterey, Ca: and Daniel O'Shaughnessy of Auroro Co; 4 grandchildren: Alexander Carll, Levi Sproul, Rachael Sproul and Madison O'Shaughnessy.

Tony graduated from Austin College in Sherman, Texas with a BA. He also received an MA from the University of Texas, Austin, Texas.

Tony was an active Mason and Shriner. He was a Ham Radio operator and active with the Power Squadron. He loved to mine gold and was active in The Neighborhood Watch.

Tony was a retired Air Force Colonel and served proudly in three wars. He was a fighter pilot and a physicist. After he retired he became a consultant for Avco Corporation. Tony was part of the team that developed the laser in the early 60s for the Air Force.

He will be placed to rest at Arlington national Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia.
