Tom Wilmer Leman, 88 of Aurora, CO departed this life peacefully at about 6:15 AM, Monday, November 24, 2025, at St. Andrews Village in Aurora. He was born on November 30, 1936, in Roanoke, IL to Wilmer and Lavina (Eisenmann) Leman. He married Marlene Stoller on October 12, 1958, in Gridley, IL.
Surviving are three sons: Mike (Deb) of Aurora, Doug (Denise) of Vero Beach, FL, and Ed (Gail) of Congerville, IL; one daughter: Carol (Keith) Kaufman of Bellevue, NE; two brothers: Bruce (late Marjorie) Leman of Roanoke, IL , and Phil Leman (Sandy) of Hampshire, IL; one sister: Linda (late Jerel) Schmidgall of Morris, MN; one brother-in-law: Herb (Nancy) Stoller of Germantown Hills, IL; and one sister-in-law: Doris (Bob) Meiss of Peoria, IL; 10 grandsons, 10 granddaughters, 46 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Marlene, his parents, two daughters, Kris (Ben) Bauman of Eureka, IL, and Kathy (Art) Kellenberger of Morrill, KS, and three grandsons.
Tom taught Chemistry and Physics at Elgin Community College (Elgin, IL) and Rangeview High School (Aurora, CO). He also enjoyed selling advertising specialty items for many years in the Elgin area, in the Aurora area, and to well-loved customers across the country. He served 44 years as a minister in the Apostolic Christian Church of America, first in Elgin, IL and then in Aurora, CO where he and Marlene moved in 1982 to support the newly formed church.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at the Apostolic Christian Church of Aurora, 280 S. Revere Street. Church ministers will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Tuesday evening at the Newcomer Funeral Home at 190 Potomac St. in Aurora and from 9:15 – 9:45 AM on Wednesday at the church before the service. Burial will be at the Fairmount Cemetery in Denver, CO.
