Mrs. Vada Mae Burns nee Jones, a lifelong resident of La Junta, CO. died at The Denver Hospice in Denver, CO. on August 22, 2014.
She died surrounded by family and friends who loved her dearly.
Ms. Jones was born in Garland, Arkansas and spent the vast majority of her life in La Junta. She was a Registered Nurse who spent most of her career working at the La Junta Medical Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Wesley and Jessie Jones and her sister Janice Zumwalt.
She is survived by her husband Santana Martinez aka "Nick", 3 children, 4 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, her sister, Sharon Waters, and her beloved grand-dogs, "Comet" and "Snickers".
She was cremated. Her interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in La Junta, CO. September 8, 2014 at 10:30 AM.
