Velma June Korb
Born Sept. 12, 1934, in Henderson, CO to Sam and Lula Dean. She passed away peacefully on Feb. 25, 2015 at home in Strasburg, CO.
As a young lady, Velma lived and worked in Las Animas. In 1962 she married Ben Korb. Together they had three children; Sheila, Debra and Gregory.
In 1978 they moved to Strasburg, CO. There Velma worked at Strasburg Schools as a cook and then a custodian. In 1984 she opened an overstock and salvage store called June's County Store. In addition to her beloved store, she helped manage County Gardens Motor Home and RV Park until 2008.
Velma is survived by her three children; Sheila (Mike) Bass, Debra (Don) Koch and Gregory (Mernie) Korb, Grandchildren; Jason (April) Bass, Heather Bond, Robbie Ells, Santana Koch, Cody Koch, Brittnie (Ashley) Korb, Michael Korb, Alexis Korb and Isabella Korb, 5 Great-Grandchildren; Shatnie Foster, Bryace Bonds, Wyatt Bass, Wade Bass and William Sale.
She was preceded in death by her Parents; Lula and Sam Dean, Brothers; Henry Dean, Delbert Dean, Floyd Dean and Frankie Dean, Sister, Lena Hunt and her husband Ben, Grandchild, Cory Ells and one Great-Grandchild, Walker Bass.
