Vernette is survived by her two daughters and their spouses, Lorraine Deena and Martin Craig of Colorado and Denise and Lance Brendel of California, and three grandchildren, Jason, Heather, and Kerstin (KC), and one great grandson, Ray. Vernette is preceded in death by her husband Don Nelson who passed away 31 years ago on September 27, 1985.
