Listen to Obituary

Vicki Lue McKee Hogue went to meet her Maker on March 18, 2026, at her home in Aurora, Colorado.

Vicki was born on April 14, 1945, in Topeka, Kansas, to Glen and Thelma McKee. She grew up in Estes Park, Colorado, where she graduated in 1963. She later attended the Parks College of Business in Denver and worked for AORN for 24 years before her retirement.

Vicki married Richard Hogue in February 1972. On December 29, 1979, they welcomed their son, Benjamin. Though they separated in 1981, they remained connected through their family. Vicki’s greatest joy in life was her four grandchildren: Ella, Patrick, Oliver, and Loretta.

A true "people person," Vicki loved talking to anyone she met. she also had a legendary green thumb and loved working in her yard, where she could make anything grow. When she wasn't gardening, she was cheering on the Denver Nuggets and Broncos, watching QVC, or getting lost in a good book. Music was in her soul; she loved everything from Elvis and Motown to Luther Vandross and Johnny Mathis. A meticulous collector, she cherished her knickknacks and knew exactly where every single piece was placed. Her favorite place in the world was Dream Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park.

She is survived by her son, her daughter-in-law, her four grandchildren, and her sister, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She will be truly missed, but her family takes comfort in knowing she is now free from pain and in heaven with her parents and her oldest sister
