In 1941 the Family moved to Gardena, CA where a second son was born. Neoma passed away in 1943 and the family returned to NE to live with their fathers' family in Lincoln County, NE.

She later moved to Omaha, NE where she was married. Two children were born in this marriage (one born in Omaha, the other in Denver.) Vicki and her family moved to Denver in 1960 where she later was divorced. She met her present husband Bob Maestas and they have been married for 47 years. Two children were born in this marriage.
Vicki cherished her family and friends. Nothing gave her more joy then spending time with siblings, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. All family, friends and anyone they brought were always welcome and made to feel comfortable. The family enjoyed camping and fishing – many weekends were spent all over the Colorado Rockies. Vicki loved vacation time with her family. From taking the kids and grandkids to Disneyland and visiting her brother and family in NE, to her trips to Europe, Mexico and Las Vegas. Her favorite destination was with her sister Charlotte in Fort Lauderdale FL. She really loved Florida.
Vicki, Bob and son Daniel moved to South Park full time in 2008. She had retired from Diners Club after 25 years and when Bob retired they made the move. They spent almost every weekend the previous 10 years working on their dream retirement home.
Vicki had such a witty and charming, along with ornery and feisty personality. She could strike up a conversation with anyone. Her niece Val Cady gave her the nickname of "crazy lady" this was because of her storytelling ability and her way of entertaining a crowd.
