Vida L Brewer of Watkins, CO passed away on March 30, 2026. She was the fourth of seven children born to the late Neal Tuttle and Irene Faries on January 1, 1936 in Basin Wyoming. 

Vida enjoyed the small class sizes at Basin High School, graduating in 1954. She then attended St Alphonsue School of nursing in Boise ID, earning her nursing cape in April 1956. In 1959, Vida joined the Air Force and earned the rank of 2nd Lieutenant before being honorably discharged in May 1960. 

November 1959 Vida married Forrest L Brewer in Montgomery, AL. They made their first home in Wichita Falls, TX where their daughter Sue joined the family in August 1960. They moved to Aurora, CO in 1963 and added a son, Robert in July 1968. Vida worked a few more years as a Labor and Delivery nurse but left the profession to focus on raising her children full time. 

Upon Forrest’s retirement in 1988 they moved to Watkins, CO. Vida enjoyed watching her grandchildren, sewing, creating scrapbooks, painting, crafting and shopping for bargains. Vida loved hosting all of the family and their friends for holidays and celebrations, greeting everyone with her beautiful smile and a full spread of food. 

Vida is preceded in death by her husband, Forrest Brewer. She is survived by her daughter Susan (Chris Nielsen) Brewer of Bennett CO, son Robert (Ellen) Brewer of Bennett CO, granddaughter Courtney (Lars) Luhrsen of Cheyenne WY, grandsons Jacob Brewer and Jacen Brewer of Bennett CO, and great-grandchildren Lane Luhrsen and Belle Luhrsen of Cheyenne WY.
