Violet Eunice Sylvester, affectionately known as Claire, Ms. Vi, Mother, Grandma, Great-Grandma, and Granny, peacefully passed away in her sleep on September 30, 2025, at the age of 88, in Colorado.

She was born on February 18, 1937, in Kingston, Jamaica, to Eric and Ethel Fenty. In her early years, Violet moved to England, where she met and married the love of her life, Patrick V. Sylvester, a member of the United States Air Force, who lovingly called her "Claire." Together, they shared a beautiful life of love and devotion, raising their family while stationed in England, Massachusetts, Puerto Rico, and Colorado.

Violet was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her five daughters, ten grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren were her greatest joys. She cherished each of them deeply and was truly the heart of her family.

In her younger years, Violet worked as an electrical fitter at Courtney Pope Electrical Limited in London and later became a dedicated employee of the Army & Air Force Exchange Service. Her strong work ethic and reliability earned her the respect of colleagues and friends alike.

A woman of remarkable talent, Violet was an accomplished seamstress admired for her craftsmanship and artistry in creating wedding gowns, tailored suits, and elegant draperies.

She was also a gifted baker and chef, delighting family and friends with her delicious meals and beloved recipes made with care and love.

In her leisure time, Violet enjoyed ceramics, playing Bingo, visiting the slot machines, and crocheting beautiful handmade pieces. Her calm spirit, gentle humor, and generous heart touched everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Violet lived a full and meaningful life, grounded in faith, love, and service to her family. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Patrick V. Sylvester; her devoted daughters, Judith A. Sylvester, Theresa M. Guin, Patricia M. Sylvester, Denise R. Sylvester, and Belinda L. Clark; ten cherished grandchildren; nine adored great-grandchildren; and many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews in the United States, Great Britain, and Jamaica.

The family held a private memorial service in her honor.

Prayer

May the angels lead you into paradise; may the martyrs receive you at your coming, and lead you into the holy city, Jerusalem. May the choir of angels receive you, and with Lazarus, who once was poor, may you have everlasting rest.

May her soul rest in eternal peace (Requiest cat in pace).
