Virginia Peraro passed away October 13, 2012. She was born September 7, 1927, in a house on Lincoln Street in the Globeville neighborhood of Denver. Her family moved to the Sunnyside neighborhood of North Denver and she graduated from North High School in 1945. She met Donald Peraro in high school and they started dating after World War II, with their first dates at the Wellshire Inn and Elitch's Trocadero Ballroom. In December of 1948 she married Don and they raised a family in the University Hills neighborhood in Southeast Denver and then out to Littleton. She was active in the Beta Sigma Phi sorority in her younger years. She was an avid reader of non-fiction and enjoyed watching baseball and football on television.

Virginia is preceded in death by her husband Don, her parents John and Marie Peltz, and sisters Amelia Peltz and Elsie Heiney. She is survived by her sons John (Anne) and Tom; grandchildren Joel (Sesha), Dominic, and Johnny; and great-grandchildren Sabine and Will.

Graveside services to be held 1:00 pm October 22 at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Staging Area "A". Reception to follow at Rosemary's Café, 2133 S. Sheridan Boulevard, Denver.

In lieu of any flowers, donations can be made to the Denver Dumb Friends League, the Denver Area Council - Boy Scouts of America, or the Arapahoe Rescue Patrol of Littleton.
