Vivian Violet Hood
Vivian Violet Hood, 92, passed away January 15, 2015 in Casper, WY. She was born November 26, 1922 in Denver, CO.
Vivian was born and raised in Colorado. She spent most of her life in the Commerce City area. She was a member of the FOE # 3461 and the VFW #4444 and volunteered her time to help cook, have parties for the holidays and help out where ever they needed her. Vivian was Elvis's biggest fan. She has a collection of Elvis that is out of this world. Vivian worked in the nursing homes and helped care for the residents. When she was not working she was caring for her husband, children and grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. She loved to camp, fish, go to the casinos, playing cards, and her bent and wiggly puzzles. She spent her last 7 years in Riverton, WY. There she continued to care for her grandchildren. She enjoyed the Wind Rivers but always said that they did not compare to the Colorado Rocky Mountains.
Vivian is survived by her daughter Lucille Hood, Riverton, WY; sons: Lewis Hood and wife Josie Brighton, CO and Mike Hood Denver, CO; 15 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 11 great great grandchildren.
Vivian was preceded in death by her loving husband, Carl L. Hood, her sons Lonnie Shrum and Ronnie Hood.
Viewing will be Sunday January 25th 4pm-8pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 901 South Sheridan Blvd.
Funeral Service Monday January 26th 10am at Newcomer Funeral Home 901 South Sheridan Blvd. Interment will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery Area A at 11:30 am.
