Ted was born February 25, 1932 in Truscott , Texas, the son of Walter Dee and Evelyn Bivens . He peacefully went home to meet the Lord August 22, 2017 surrounded by his loving wife and children.

Ted served his country through the 7th Infantry Division in the United States Army from 1952-1954 and was a Korean War Veteran. He worked and retired from the Colorado State Department of Transportation. He loved to bowl and do his yard work. He enjoyed trips to Hawaii with his wife. Ted was a great dancer, but his favorite past time was watching football.

Ted is survived by his loving wife of 35 years Barbara Bivens; son Ricky Bivens of Plano, Texas; two daughters, Heidi Gregory of Limon, Colorado and Tonja Brown of Payette, Idaho; step-daughter Dawn Brown of Bennett, Colorado. He is also survived by his sister Sue Richardson; brother Bud Bivens; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Ted is preceded in death by his parents Roy and Evelyn McFetridge and brother Dee Bivens Jr.
