Warren Albert Gallup, Jr. of Denver, Colorado, died Friday, May 31, 2025 at Brookshire Post-Acute Memory Care Nursing Home in Denver, Colorado.
He was 77.
Tag, as he was affectionately known to friends and family, was born February 2, 1948 in Lusk, Wyoming, to Warren and Olive “Jackie” Gallup. He graduated from Central High School, Cheyenne, Wyoming, in 1966. He was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity and graduated from the University of Wyoming, Laramie, Wyoming, in 1970.
He was a man of many interests and talents. Tag was a licensed pilot who flew for Sky 9 in Denver, a professional photographer for Zemi Photographics, an expert carpenter, amateur astronomer, scuba diver, sail boat enthusiast, kayaker, skydiver, motorcyclist, horticulturist, downhill skier, woodcarver, international traveler, and lover of chocolate. He was very intelligent, creative, handsome, fun, witty, energetic, adventurous, and a lifelong learner.
Tag was preceded in death by his parents, sister Karen, and brother Jim. He is survived by dozens of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Gathering will be held at 11 a.m., August 2, 2025, at Vedauwoo Recreation Area in Medicine Bow National Forest, east of Laramie, Wyoming. Specific location at Vedauwoo to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Tag’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, American Lung Association, National Kidney Foundation, National Alliance on Mental Illness, or your local hospice program would be appreciated.
