Wayne also enjoyed Cruising with his wife and their friends from Church, to the Caribbean, Alaska, Panama Canal, and Hawaii. Wayne would go hunting in the fall with friends, a son-in-law, and his grand-sons. He was the camp cook and watch dog and very seldom had to use his rifle. Wayne also loved to bowl and was on several bowling leagues through the years. His average was 180. He also enjoyed woodworking, making birdhouses and picture frames.
In 2004 Wayne became ill and had to give up fishing and camping and many of his hobbies. In 2011 he had major surgery and never fully recovered. This stopped him from throwing his bowling ball but did not stop him from coming to the alley to cheer on his friends and family, drink coffee and eat burritos.
Wayne died at home on October 13, 2013, with his wife and family present.
