Willard wrote to his family:
To My Children and Grand Children,
I want you to know that I love my country. From ocean to ocean, from the north state to the island state. From its mountains and canyons, its rivers and plains. I love its farm lands and cities, I love its railroads, cars and planes. I love the monuments and scenic wonders, national parks, forests, deserts, that this land contains. I love the Churches, Temples and people. I love the good songs it sings. But most of all, I love the liberty and freedom it rings. When Old Glory is raised and our anthem is played, my breast swells from within from the feeling it brings.
Dad
Willard was a devoted citizen, husband and father. He will be missed on this earth but we look forward to seeing him later.
