William "Bill" Andrews
85, Bill Andrews a retired resident of Heather Gardens in Aurora, Colorado passed away on October 26, 2012.
Bill was born May 14, 1927 in Oakland, California and grew up in Berkley. Bill joined the military and was discharged from the Army in 1947 and went to work for Sears Roebucks. At Sears, Bill met his wife Mildred A. Saunders and they were fortunate enough to enjoy 63 years together. In 1967, Jacuzzi Brother transferred Bill to Denver to manage their office and warehouse. Bill and Mildred moved to Denver with their two elementary age children, Diane and Jim. It was always their intention to move "home" to the Bay area, but they both grew to love Denver and Denver became home too. Bill was involved in managing local music stores and was employed by the Cherry Creek School District. Bill and Mildred joined Grace United Methodist Church in 1967 and have been active members since. Bill enjoyed being an usher and playing golf with friends from Grace. Bill and Mildred also helped schedule and deliver Meals on Wheels for several years. He also enjoyed playing the drums for annual church concerts but Swing and Big Band music was his passion. Cars were also a passion of Bill's, he enjoyed tinkering and looking at old cars.
Bill is survived by his beloved wife, Mildred, and two children Diane Westerberg, Englewood, Colorado and Jim Andrews, Jupiter, Florida and his two grandchildren, Dr. Jake Westerberg, Lubbock, Texas and Kristi Andrews, Jupiter, Florida.
Memorial Service will be Friday, November 16, 2012, 11:00 AM, at Grace United Methodist Church, 4905 East Yale Avenue, Denver, Colorado 80222.
