William C. Thornton of Morrison, Colorado, passed away on November 25, 2012. He was born on January 13, 1930, in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, son of Ralph E. and Adolphine M. Thornton. He graduated from Classen High School in Oklahoma City, and received a BS degree in military science from Oklahoma A & M College, where he was a member of Delta Tau Delta. He received an MBA from the University of Missouri.
He served in the Army as a First Lieutenant in Korea, and later retired from the Reserves as a Captain. Bill was a sales engineer/mining specialist with Westinghouse Electric Corporation for 35 years. He served as an Elder in the Presbyterian Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ralph Bart Thornton. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Marianne, his daughter Laurie Anne and her husband Ernie Stefely of Arvada, his sister Martha Pat and her husband Brian Upp of Oklahoma City. Also surviving are nieces Sherri Price and Patti Hoover Lane of Oklahoma City and Rachel Brooks of Norman, Oklahoma.
