William George Bruce Hunter, 71, a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and coach passed away on Friday, December 7th, 2018.
William or "Bill" as everyone knew him was born July 29th, 1947, to William A. and Marie E. Hunter, in Aurora, CO. He grew up the oldest of five children, Linda, Bobby, Terry, and Nannette in Denver, CO. He married the love of his life and his best friend Barbara Jean in 1974, and they raised two children together Jeremy and Valorie in Aurora, CO. He was a dedicated and loyal employee while working for Metz Lumber, Best Brands Liquor, Ferguson, and Packaging Film Sales, while always making time for his real love and passion of "Coaching". Coach Hunter or Grandpa as he was called by so many of the kids he had coached over the last 50 years wasn't just a Baseball Coach but a father figure to so many young men. He always tried to install discipline, hard work, and respect in all his players with the ultimate goal of making them "Great Men". In 2017 he was honored as the Colorado Dugout Club High School Assistant Coach of the Year, a award he was so honored to receive while being surrounded by so many former players.
William is survived by his loving wife Barbara, son Jeremy, daughter Valorie, daughter-in law Renee, son-in-law Shawn, grandchildren Tyler, Olivia, Jade, Payton, Hawk, mother Marie, mother-in-law Rose Ellen, brother Terry (Teresa), sister Nannette (Brett), sister-in-law Kathleen, sister-in-law Mary (Jimmy), sister-in-law Susan, brother-in-law Anthony (Lynette), brother-in-law Richard (Annie), brother-in-law Danny, brother-in-law Roxie, brother-in-law Raymond (Brooke), nephews/nieces Daniel, Brian, Kristen, Lesa, Patrick, LeeAnn, Cassie, Landry, Brandon, Jesse, Chad, Addam, Sean, Ashleigh, Shay, Travis, and Olivia.
William was preceded in death by grandfather Harold Hunter, grandfather George Roberts, grandmother Hazel Hunter, grandmother Elva Roberts, father William Hunter, father-in-law Daniel Belfiore, sister Linda, and brother Bobby.
