William J. "Bill" Ducey, 86, of Denver, passed away July 15, 2017.
He was born January 26, 1931 in Denver, Colorado, the son of William and Marie (Dobbins) Ducey. He attended St. John's Catholic School in Denver.
Marie, Mary and Bill moved to Wyoming and William later joined them. Later, Bill returned to Denver with his father. After his father passed, Bill lived alone and would do errands for the owner of the hotel where he lived.
Soon after, Marie and Mary returned to Denver. He became a client of Community Living Alternatives to help him live independently. It was during this time that he lived with Doris Pyles' family. He lived with Doris for 27 years until a stay in the hospital necessitated a move to Essie Jackson's home for more care.
Bill retired from Goodwill Industries on June 22, 2017 after many years of employment cleaning the Goodwill Stores.
Bill enjoyed going to Mass and then Coffee House for many years. Bill never knew a stranger and will be remembered as being very gregarious. Bill loved to nap and would take one every day after coming home from work in the afternoon. He will be dearly missed.
William is survived by sister, Mary J. Ducey and many cousins, extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by father, William J. Ducey and mother, Marie Ducey.
Memorial contributions may be made in Bill's name to either Goodwill Industries of Denver, 6850 Federal Blvd, Denver, CO 80221 or Community Living Alternatives, 14252 E Evans Ave, Aurora, CO 80014.
