William Ples Pratt

November 15, 1933 — May 13, 2012

William (Bill) Ples Pratt of Littleton, Colorado passed away Sunday, May 13, 2012. Devoted husband and loving father and grandfather, Bill is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marlys Pratt, their daughters Linda Pratt and Lora (Pratt) Johnson, grandchildren Mariah and Nathaniel Johnson, his brother Ed Pratt, and his sisters Lela Rhodes and Judy Pratt. He will be deeply missed.

Born in Colorado Springs, Colorado on November 15, 1933, Bill was a graduate of Colorado Springs High School. After high school, he enlisted in the Navy, where he served on the USS Bremerton until his honorable discharge in 1954. Following his time in the service, Bill returned to Colorado, and in 1959, married Marlys Ostrowski. From 1963 to his retirement in 1990, he worked as an aerospace engineer for Martin Marietta.

A devoted family man, Bill spent countless hours coaching his children in softball and supporting them no matter where life took them; his grandchildren were a great source of joy for him, and he followed their accomplishments with love and pride. He will be remembered for his sharp mind and inherent kindness that endeared him to all who knew him.
