Willie James Mcwashington

March 6, 1931 — September 20, 2015

Willie James McWashington was born in Montgomery, Texas on March 6, 1931 to Kermit McWashington and Elvira Tisdale. He graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Conroe, Texas.

In 1949 he joined the United States Air Force retiring after serving 25 years as Master sergeant, with tours of duty in Germany, Azores England, and Vietnam. Willie was a proud member of the 32nd Degree Masonic Order.

After returning to Denver, Colorado he enrolled at Metro State College, earning a Bachelors Degree in Political Science. He later worked for the United States Department of Agriculture where he retired after devoting 19 years of hard work.

Willie loved fishing, camping, gardening, playing cards and watching his favorite team the Colorado Rockies.

Willie is survived by his loving wife of 51 Years Valerie; two loving daughters Ava and Karen; three grandchildren S'nae (Shaun), Alexander and Camille (Jason); three great-grandchildren Chloe, Arianna and Kaliyah; brother Lawrence McWashington and sister Zerlinda Ford. He is preceded in death by his parents, and son Willie McWashington Jr.

He will be dearly missed by family and friends.
