Willis Dayton Clawson

October 29, 1935 — February 10, 2015

Willis Dayton "Bill" Clawson, born 29 October 1935, left this Earth in peace, surrounded by family, on 10 February 2015.

He was born and raised in Fairchance, Fayette County, Pennsylvania, to Nellie Faye (Augustine) and Alston Dayton Clawson. It was there that he met his wife of 63 years, Shirley Anne Matthews, who survives him.

He proudly served his nation in the United States Air Force for 20 years, attaining the rank of Technical Sergeant, before retiring and pursuing a second career with Pitney Bowes, Inc. He moved to Colorado after his children graduated, having fallen in love with the state while stationed here.

He and Shirley had six children, and lived in various locations in the United States and Europe during his Air Force career. He was preceded in death by one son, Mark Stephen, and survived by Melanie Sue Alberson (James Michael) of Jacksonville, Arkansas, Michael Scott Clawson (Mai Le) of Parker Colorado, Ronni Lynn Clawson of Arkansas, Lisa Jo Pandolfini (Paul) of Los Angeles, California, and Eric David Clawson, of Aurora, Colorado.

Five grandchildren and their spouses, Erin Elizabeth Arlow (Ian) of Portland, Oregon, Michael Burke Alberson (Mara), who also serves in the Air Force in Montana, Andrew Reid Alberson (Jamie) of Portland, Oregon, Tina Gamard (Gilbert) of Parker, Colorado, Pia Pandolfini of Los Angeles, California, and a total of ten great-grandchildren also celebrate his life.
