Wilma Adelia McLeod, passed away on December 1, 2014. She was born on September 5, 1917 in Haddam, Kansas to Fred and Orpha Parrack. She took normal school training in high school, which allowed her to teach in a rural school upon graduation. She then taught in rural Kansas schools for four years at Rock and Throop schools. Wilma attended Kansas State University to renew her teaching certificate. While still teaching she married Donald Loren McLeod when she was 21 years of age. Don preceded her in death after over 60 years of marriage. After a couple of years of farming, they relocated to Colorado in February of 1941. Wilma was a resident of Jefferson County for 73 years, living in Mountair, Lakewood and Wheatridge. She loved her family, gardening and sewing.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers; Keith, Vaughn and Jack. She is survived by her son Ronald and his wife Scottie; two grandchildren, Tammy, Shawna and their families; and eight great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Calvin, Tanner, Carly, Thomas Lee, Noah, Sierra and Laiken.
A memorial Service will be held Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Mountair Christian Church, 1390 Benton Street, Lakewood, Colorado, to celebrate Wilma's Life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Mountair Christian Church, 1390 Benton Street, Lakewood, Colorado 80214.
