Yula Joy Losasso 12/9/1944-06/07/2026
Yula never met strangers, only friends, never met a job she could not do, never gave up, and never let anyone down. Yula Joy Losasso 81, of Lakewood, CO., died on 06/07/2026 in Lakewood, CO.
She was born in Oakland, CA 12/09/1944, and moved to Colorado with her parents at 1 month old. She lived in Colorado her whole life. Her parents, Roy and Leoti Leach taught her to work hard, and family is everything. Yula achieved an Associate’s degree in bookkeeping. She worked in numerous fields throughout her life. However, the last 20 years she worked with Ralph Proctor who she loved as a coworker, friend, and pseudo son. Yula is preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Leoti, her brother Leroy Leach. Her husband, Melvin Losasso and her son, Steven N. Losasso. She survived by her daughter, Angela Bonura, her son-in-law, Bob Bonura. Her step-daughter, Donna Losasso, her stepson, Kenny Losasso. Her grandchildren Benjamin Losasso, Breann Miller, her husband Greg, Brookelin Bonura and Austin Bonura his fiancé, Claire Kentner. Her great grandchildren, Pierson and Mackenzi Miller. She is also survived by her sister Rose O’Toole, her nephew Mike Disque and her niece Jeanne Jensen. Extended family and many many friends.
Her sister Rose and many others commented on how she was always there to listen and encourage people. You just had to pick up the phone and ask. Her family was her life and gave her purpose, and she loved them with her whole heart. She was a confidante, friend, advocate, cheerleader, a sounding board without judgement, a hug, and so many other wonderful things to so many family and friends.
Yula was always ready with a fishing pole, or wrench whichever the situation called for. If she did not know how to do something, she learned. She could change out an engine or cook a gourmet dinner and amazing cinnamon rolls. One of her fondest memories was riding the streetcar downtown with her grandmother, Anna and going to Woolworths. They would have cantaloupe with sherbert.
We are so blessed to have had her in our lives.
