Arline Marion Kochmann, 81, of Denver, passed away July 21, 2016.

She was born July 13, 1935 in Mankato, Minnesota, the daughter of Johannes and Theresa (Ulsmaag) Riple.
Her family lived on a small farm near Pemberton, Minnesota where they lived a modest life. She learned to make things happen by skillfulness and drive, traits she carried throughout her life.

She was a graduate of Waseca High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Mankato State College.

She taught school 38 years in various schools, while a single person at a rural Minnesota school, in Rochester, MN, Darmstadt Germany for the military dependents, Hawaii and after marriage in Denver.

Before marriage, she traveled to 20 countries in Europe, Scandinavia and Great Britain and to in the pacific to Australia, New Zealand and Fiji and to Japan after marriage.

She had a strong association to her Norwegian heritage and maintained a close relationship with relatives in Norway where she visited 15 times. She was a member of the Sons of Norway for 40 years.

On August 1, 1970 she married James Kochmann, of Denver, Colorado where they resided until her death.
Arline is survived by her husband of 46 years, Jim Kochmann; and sister, Nancy Riple. She is preceded in death by her parents, Johannes and Theresa Riple; sisters, Joann Bruns and Leola Joecks; and brother, Kenneth Riple.
