Priscilla S. Auten, 99, of Westminster, passed away April 20, 2017.

She was born April 18, 1918 in Passaic, New Jersey, the daughter of William Allen and Helen Porter (Nichols) Sleeper.

She was a graduate of New Rochelle High School in New York. She graduated from Katharine Gibbs Business college. Priscilla then attended Oberlin College for 2 years where she met the love of her life, Lawrence Auten. They were married on June 25, 1940.

In the 1940s, Priscilla and Lawrence began their family and lived above a store in Chicago where Lawrence repaired clocks and Priscilla handled the books for the business.

The family moved to Denver in 1951. Priscilla stayed home at first to care for the children and once the children were older, she began her career as an Executive Administrative Assistant.

Priscilla was a long-time member of Intercession Episcopal Church in Thornton. She was a member of the YMCA for 35 years and also volunteered with Adams County District 50 Rescue Unit for many years with her husband Lawrence.

Priscilla was an expert and devoted seamstress, making many fashions over the years including wedding gowns, costumes for ballets, and gowns for all occasions. She was a visual artist. Priscilla enjoyed swimming. She also worked for Colorado Association of Swimming Officials and was an official for swimming meets. She loved to listen to classical music and was a wonderful pianist in her early years. Above all, she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Priscilla is survived by four children, Marjorie Elizabeth (Fred) Storer, Helen Virginia "Ginny" (the late Henry) Moe, Lawrence Cutter (D'Ann) Auten Jr. and Charlotte May (Marion) Richardson; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and friends through the Prayer Group at Intercession Episcopal Church.

She is preceded in death by husband of 57 years, Lawrence Cutter Auten; father, William Allen Sleeper; mother, Helen Porter Sleeper and two brothers, William Allen Sleeper, Jr. and Benjamin Joseph Sleeper.
