He was preceded in death by his parents Nasario Fernandez and Dilia Fernandez (Lucero), his wife Linda Fernandez (Hospkins), brother James Fernandez and his wife Rose, sister Barbara Rimbert, and sister Betty Fisher.
He is survived by his sister Teresa Cardona, sister Elaine Fernandez, brother Ed Fernandez and his wife Brenda, sister Judy Crow and her husband Lyle, sister Nancy Fernandez, sister Juanita Madera and her husband Jesus, his daughter Robin Romero and her husband Robert, grandson Robert Jr, granddaughter Sierra, his son Paul Fernandez, his granddaughter Evelese, Natalie and great grandson Aiden and many nieces and nephews. Sam was a loving Father, husband, grandfather and friend to all.
Sam graduated from Westminster High School on May 23, 1969. He went into the U.S. Army In 1971 and served 13 years. After military service he took up the career of plastering and owned his own business with his brothers. After giving up plastering he started working for TSA at the airport until he retired. Sam enjoyed watching sports such as golf and his Denver Broncos. He loved shooting pool and was involved in many tournaments. He also loved the great outdoors. Many activities he enjoyed included fishing, hunting and camping. Sam was a very helpful person and if you needed anything he would be there for you, no questions asked!
