Johnnie M. Anderson, 69, of Denver, passed away October 3, 2018.

She was born June 14, 1949 in Bonner Springs, Kansas, the daughter of Vernon and Ruth (Turner) Ford. She was a graduate of Paseo High School. She attended Denver Business College. On October 6, 1979 she married Randall Anderson, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Johnnie had 6 brothers, the late Walter and Henry, Lloyd, Cecil, Joe, and Jesse. Ten sisters, Theresa, Vernetta, Ruby, the late Edna June, Lois, Mary, Faith, Germaine, the late Stephanie, and Michelle. A host of nieces and nephews, adopted daughters and sons.

On June 14, 1949 the world would never be the same. A truly beautiful and loving spirit was born. Johnnie was so full of tenacity and fire. She was known by all for her directness, but also her love. To know Johnnie was to love her. Many did not know she always wanted to be a doctor, but her true calling was children. She has touched the lives of so many children throughout the years. Teaching them to read, write, math, life skills and giving them a sense of pride and honor. Her strength lies in her ability to help others find their destiny and to never give up.

Johnnie is survived by two daughters, Marisha Young and Lolita (Steven) Bridges and four grandchildren: Najee, Se'Jihn, Deja, and Jaejuan. She is preceded in death by her parents, Vernon Ford and Ruth Ford; and husband, Randall Martin Anderson.
