In Memory Of
Dorothy Ann Roberts
1927 - 2019

Dorothy Ann Roberts (Churches) passed on to heaven on Friday, March 15, 2019 at the age of 91. She was born in her grandparents’ grocery market in Golden, Colorado on Friday, December 9, 1927. Her parents were late William George Churches and late Mina Churches. Dorothy’s brothers Georgie and Kenny Churches preceded her in death but her sister, Linda Schnur, survived her.

Dorothy married her late husband, Billy E. Roberts on April 6, 1946 and they had four children together: Cherry Lee Melancon married to David, Gary Roberts married to LaMyrna Roberts, Jeanette Hansen married to Steve and Lynnette Roberts Craig married to Dan.

Dorothy had nine grandchildren: Dustin Roberts married to Aryann, Haley Sanders married to Jonathan, Luke Roberts married to Sarah, Mark Melancon married to Mary Catherine, Michelle Urbiola married to Gerardo, Clayton Magor married to Sydney, Coleby Magor, Carter Craig and Caylianna Craig. Dorothy had three step grandsons, Steven, David and Scott Hansen.

Dorothy also had thirteen great grandchildren Jaxson, Alexa, Brooklyn M, Jack, Ella, Brooklyn R, Gannon, Gentry, Genesee, Bentley, Breckyn, Lucas and Liam.

Dorothy had many other family members and friends whose lives she touched and who all adored her.

If you didn’t find Dorothy in her reclining chair reading her bible, she was giggling, playing with her kids or grandkids or watching one of them play sports. She and Bill enjoyed riding horses, waterskiing, and fishing with their family. Dorothy kept busy at home cooking, cleaning or pulling weeds as an excuse to play in the hose. She loved to sing and dance in her kitchen to Elvis, Patsy Cline and other oldies. She was a wife, mother and homemaker of one of the most fun and homey, love-filled homes!

Dorothy was one of a kind. So sweet, gentle, and caring with a big heart. She knew what mattered most and she lived her life for Jesus and her children and introduced many to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Dorothy will forever be dearly loved as an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and a selfless, servant of Jesus Christ.

A viewing will be at Newcomer’s Funeral Home at noon on Monday, March 25 with a service to follow at 1:00 o’clock followed by a reception from 2:00 - 4:00. 901 S. Sheridan Blvd., Lakewood CO 80226.
