In Memory Of
Robert E. Williams, Jr.
1950 - 2019

Robert E. Williams Jr. was called home by our heavenly father on Monday October 28, 2019. He was born to the late Robert E. Williams Sr. and Joyce H. Williams, May 17, 1950, in Denver, CO. He married Barbara Williams April 14, 1984, and they lived together in Denver, CO. Robert and Barbara were blessed to raise a daughter, Sonya Acker, and two sons, Troy Williams, and Jesse Williams.

Robert spent a great deal of his life in the printing industry. However, his greatest joy was undoubtedly when he served children. As a District Director of the Leadership Assistance Program (LeAP) for the Boy Scouts of America, Denver Area Council, Robert was charged with delivering the Scouting program to youth who ordinarily would not participate due to economic or social barriers. He did this by partnering with organizations to provide after school programs at elementary schools, middle schools, churches, low-income housing, and community organizations that serve Denver metro's diverse population.

When Robert was not serving the community, he focused his attention on his family. He enjoyed the outdoors, which included camping and fishing with anyone that asked, or wanted to go. He was especially dedicated to making the holidays an enjoyable experience for all those around him. His cheerful disposition and demeanor made even the darkest days turn into the brightest futures.

His unselfish dedication and commitment to his family and the children of the community sets him apart from all others. There is now a pair of empty shoes that could never be filled.

Robert is survived by his wife Barbara Williams, mother-in-law Virginia Hayes, and 3 children Troy (Marna) Williams, Sonya (Matt) Acker, and Jesse Williams. He is survived by 8 Grand Children, Troy Williams Jr., Samantha Acker, Austyn Acker, Jonathan Acker, Garrett Williams, Evan Williams, Dillon Williams, and Jean Luc Williams. He is also survived by his brother Ron Williams, two sisters Marianne (Rick) Bistram, Susan Carlson, brother-in-law Dennis (Kathi) Brown, 5 nephews, 2 nieces, 7 great nephews, and 6 great nieces. He is preceded in death by his parents Robert Sr. and Joyce Williams, brother-in-law Brian Carlson, and nephew Nathan Carlson.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made out to The Denver Area Council, Boy Scouts of America, 10455 W. 6th Ave., Denver, CO 80215.
