Sue Ellen (McCray) Barr a loving mother, sister, grandmother and friend passed away peacefully on February 10, 2021.

Sue was born on October 31, 1942 in Odessa, Texas to George and Velma McCray. After graduating from Chaffey High School in Ontario, California, Sue earned her Associates Degree from Chaffey College in Alta Loma, California and continued her education at Regis University in Denver, Colorado.

Sue loved spending time at the beach as well as sharing special moments with family and friends but she especially loved doting on her four grandchildren. She said, “My grandchildren were a long time coming but well worth the wait”. When she wasn’t with her beloved grandchildren, she enjoyed a good book, listening to classical music or doing word searches and Sudoku.

Sue loved her career in banking and finance working with and meeting many wonderful people.

Sue was preceded in death by her father, George, and mother, Velma. She is survived by Charles M. Barr, her children, Charles (Kerry) Barr, grandchildren Abigail and Ethan, Dawn (Nick) Tata, grandchildren Lauren and Jack, sister Paula (John) Rea, brother George McCray, Jr., nephew Jon Rea, great-nephew Jacob Rea, and many friends she cherished like family.

A celebration of life at the beach will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the American Heart Association (www2.heart.org) or Colorado Public Radio (CPR.org).
