DENNIS SCOTT SHORTINO, 58, of Lakewood, passed away July 11.

Survivors include stepsons Frank and Steve Bravo; mother, Nina Marie Shortino; brother, Mike Shortino; sister, Cathy Shortino-Biljanic; many nieces and nephews; and three beloved setters. He was predeceased by his wife, Susan Shortino; and father, Joseph Lee Shortino.

He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on March 28, 1954, and has lived in metro Denver for more than 30 years. A longtime, dedicated employee of the Federal Bureau of Prisons, he was an avid grouse and pheasant hunter, and loved training his hunting dogs and collecting hunting-themed antiques. He held a strong Christian faith, and believed he would be reunited with his beloved wife, Susan, who passed away last July.

Informal memorial services 10 a.m. July 28 at Lake Henry Training Center, Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Englewood, 9595 West Quincy Ave., Littleton. In lieu of flowers, send donations to Denver Hospice.
