Sally Scrivner
1941 - 2022

Sally Jayne Scrivner died peacefully Friday, November 18, 2022 at her residence in Arvada, Colorado after a brief illness.

Sally was born October 2, 1941 to Jay and Jean Bradley of Colorado. Following the sudden and unexpected death of her father Jay, Sally’s mother remarried – to Walter B. McQuaid, who lovingly adopted Sally. The family spent time in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, and the Square S Ranch, also in Colorado, before moving to Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1950 where Sally remained through High School. Sally attended the University of New Mexico for one year, and later left Albuquerque for Fort Collins, Colorado to attend Colorado State University (CSU), where she was a proud member of the Tri Delta Sorority. It was at CSU where Sally met her future husband Lairie Scrivner. Sally and Lairie were married on August 6, 1961; they were married for 58 years until Lairie’s passing in late 2019. In early 2010, Sally and Lairie moved to Socorro, New Mexico to fulfill Sally’s lifelong dream of returning to live and retire in “The Land of Enchantment”

Sally was a beloved wife, mother, daughter and sister. She was extremely talented and gifted artistically, filling her home with her beautiful paintings, sketches, ceramic pottery and tiles, wood carvings and other creations inspired largely by the desert southwest, its culture and landscapes.

Sally is survived by her son Stephen Scrivner, daughter in-law Linda Scrivner, granddaughter Emily Brooks, and her sister Marti Jean Crapo.

Should anyone desire to make a memorial contribution – Sally and her late husband actively supported the following local Socorro County New Mexico charity:

Puerto Seguro Safe Harbor - providing much needed food, clothing and other valuable assistance to the underprivileged of Socorro. Website link: https://www.psisafeharbor.org/
